Always a tough fixture to fulfil but the Dolphins march on with another win and another clean sheet. Carl Preston made his first full start for Poole Town wide on the left.

As always at Bemerton it is a very physical game and within the first twenty minutes Dibba was clattered by a Bemerton striker, Harvell was challenged late after collecting the ball and the Bemerton number 10 was also late with a challenge on Preston. Yellow cards flowed with Bemerton picking up six or seven during the match along with a red for the number 5. This was a shame as Bemerton actually looked a decent side when they got the ball down and played. It was a fairly even opening half hour but gradually Poole took more control.

On 30 minutes Gill crossed into the box from the right and either a handball or challenge on Austin resulted in a penalty being awarded. Austin made no mistake from the spot to put the away side in front. It was two minutes after this that the Bemrton number 5 picked up his second yellow and therefore red card.

The half ended with a bit of acrimony too as the Bemerton number 7 seemingly elbowed Preston in the face off the ball but went unpunished as the referee hadn't see it.

Half time: 0-1

With ten men Bemerton seemed to play better in the second half and there was no little effort from them to get an equaliser. The Poole defence were superb however marshaled by Harvell at the back. Luke Whitley was brilliant in his return to Bemerton after the kicking he got last season. Time and again he snuffed out chances and put in several key blocks to preserve the lead.

On 53 minutes a long range effort had to be tipped away by Harvell and six minutes later he had to produce another good save to deny a long shot from the Bemerton number 7.

On 67 minutes Poole made sure of the points when after a succession of corners the ball eventually dropped to Whitley and he hammered it home through a crowd of players to make it 2-0. Brown teed up Gill a few minutes for a volley which went just over and on 75 minutes a cracking move from right to left eventually saw a Steve Smith (on for Austin) shot tipped over the bar.

Dave Sturgess and Mickey Hubbard came on late to replace Taffy Richardson and Andy Culliford and Poole comfortably saw out the rest of the game to continue their winning streak.
